"VAHI" TUDOR REMODEL

Great bones in this 1920s Craftsman/Tudor allowed for extensive first floor renovations, to open up the floor plan and bring much needed natural light into the living spaces. Color washes in the entry Parlor pay homage to the historic nature of the home while offering an updated feel. The primary cooking and living spaces are tied with the common thread of custom white oak millwork, offering a modernized, yet warm feeling to the overall space. Paired with a backyard overhaul and garage conversion to pool cabana, this stately home offers ample indoor and outdoor entertaining space.

1918 CRAFTSMAN RENO

Grandfathered setbacks on a small lot meant that we needed to keep the existing house as much as possible and fully "gut" the interior. A second story addition to the original 1918 craftsman bungalow was accomplished by creating twin gable dormers off both the front and back of the house. By doing this, we were able to retain the original character of the home without the new floor looking like an addition.

EAST COAST COTTAGE

The concept for this home was to emulate the form of the original brick cottage that once occupied the lot, while introducing clean lines, and an updated look. On the interior, the volume opens up for an unexpected twist from what the exterior leads you to believe. An open steel stair welcomes you in the vaulted main entry. The entertaining kitchen is the heart of the home with a fully open space flanked by dining and living.

10TH AVE RENO

This project presented challenges working within the confines of an existing single story brick home from the 1940s. An addition was not feasible due to environmental conditions of the steep slope site, so the design needed to make the home feel spacious without the luxury of square footage. Vaulted ceilings, an opened up plan, and a plush lower level master suite accomplished the owners dream, within an affordable budget.

MAGNOLIA CONTEMPORARY

A renovation project that included a second story addition to an existing, 1950s brick rambler. The interior of this home was opened up into a free flowing plan, a full second floor was added, with outdoor space directly off the master bedroom, and an exterior stair to expansive roof terrace. The goal of creating a truly model home was accomplished through a monochromatic pallet of exterior materials and the cantilevered upper story massing adds to the drama upon approaching the entry.

LAWTONWOOD ESTATE

Emulating the north-west nature of its surroundings, this home uses natural materials and sweeping roof forms to create an updated contemporary style, while still fitting into its natural context. Built into a hill and positioned to retain many significant trees that occupy the site, it offers a secluded "woodsy" retreat.

ANDERSON RESIDENCE

This high-end spec home, not far from the center of town, offers a nod to the north-west "shed roof" style, with clean lines and a natural color palette. By taking advantage of the front street access, the garage is sunken into the lot slightly to allow for vaulted ceiling in the upper level bedrooms, while remaining under the maximum height limit.

SUNDANCE WEST

Located in Big Sky, Montana, the clients desired a lodge style western home that took inspiration from the local forest. Although rustic in material use, the interior learns from modern space planning techniques. Open, light filled, volumes of space merge together in a free flowing floor plan that offers views of the river from almost every space.
